Social Lites

We regularly schedule fellowships, potlucks & other activities to provide opportunities for people to develop relationships with each other.

Every January, April, July & October our church meets for a business meeting & potluck meal. Quarterly (February, May & September) we meet on a Sunday evening for A Night of Praise where we share in some great music, sweet fellowship & a yummy potluck dessert social.

Summer is a great time to catch up on things around the house & also time to enjoy fellowship. For those who enjoy camp outs, there is an annual cam pout in the mountains scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, even including a family worship experience on Sunday. Anyone & everyone is encouraged to go for part of the time, to drop in, or for the whole weekend. It is always a relaxing & fun time for those who go. For those who aren't into camping & for our guests, we maintain our regular worship schedule at the church campus.

For more information on these Social Ministry activities contact the Church Office at 916-685-4019.

Mission Moments

Country Oaks Baptist Church participates in & supports missions in many different ways.

We financially support missions work & thousands of missionaries in the United States & all over the world through the Cooperative Program giving of the Southern Baptist Convention. This support is given through the regular tithes & offerings of our members, attendees & friends. In addition, there are special collections of funds for North American & International Missions at Easter & Christmas times.

Also in the summer months we have a number of our people personally involved in missions work. The last few summers our Youth (teen) & College & Career Ministres have taken a group of teens & young adults & sponsors to participate in World Changers missions. In 2003 our group traveled to spend a week in Tacoma, Washington, in 2004 they traveled to Highland, California and to Clovis, California in 2005 and 2006. World Changers is a missions organization devoted to helping needy families & individuals repair & build houses. This ministry allows students to serve those in need & spread the gospel through a living Christian example. Many lives are changed through this experience.

Finally, we have had some of our young people & adults travel to help with missions projects & camps throughout the world & here at home is the United States. The last few years some have traveled to work for part of the summer at teen camps in the United States & with Teen Missions in Guatemala, Fiji, & Africa.

Please pray for all who are & who will be involved in the mission projects.

Children's Choirs

Many public schools no longer provide for, or have had to cut back on, music programs. Now at Country Oaks Baptist Church the Music Ministry helps to provide for the music education of children.

Running September through mid- December, we have one of the following choir programs for children scheduled:

1. Children's Christmas Musical Choir for children in 1st through 6th grades, that meets until the musical is presented sometime in mid-December PLUS a separate pre-school choir for children 4 years old through kindergarten.
OR
2. three (3) Graded Children's Choirs are available for children from 4 years old through 6th grade.

Then after the Christmas holidays, every January through May, three (3) of the Children's Choirs return for rehearsals & fun. These choirs are designed, with Christian truths, to guide children through music instruction, to help them learn about music, to determine & develop the child's own musical ability & to just plain have fun with music!

God's Lambs (directed by Chris Corrales) is designed for children ages 4 through Kindergarten.
Music Makers (directed by Julie & David Powell) is designed for children in 1st through 3rd grades.
SonShine Singers (directed by Sherri & Bob Eitel) is designed for children in 4th through 6th grades.
(Presently the Christmas Choir, directed by Bob & Sherri Eitel, meets every other year from September through mid-December.)

Please contact the Church Office (916-685-4019 or office@cobceg.org) for more information if you would like your children to become part of one of these wonderful choirs for children.
